Advance Photography
High Key / Low key
Advance photography, Studio Portrait Project
For this project, I focused on mastering high key and low key lighting techniques in a studio setting. My creative vision centered on using light to highlight the elegance of human form in a way that guides the viewer’s eye fluidly through the composition. By emphasizing line, shape, and balance, I aimed to create portraits that feel both visually striking and intentional in their flow. With high key, I used multiple light sources, a softbox, and a bright backdrop to achieve a clean, airy effect with minimal shadows. For low key, I shifted to a single, directional light against a dark background to create dramatic shadows and strong contrast. Both sets of portraits were captured using a Cannon Rebel T7 camera and studio lighting equipment then later refined in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom Classic to enhance tonal balance and highlight the distinct moods of each style.

For this project, I was inspired to explore greyscale male photography, which presented a new challenge for me as I had never photographed in black and white or worked with a male subject before. Drawing inspiration from Calvin Klein’s iconic style, I aimed to create a polished and minimalist look. To achieve this, I utilized LED lighting equipment, a backdrop, and a Canon Rebel T7 camera. I also edited and retouched these images in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom Classic to enhance the image quality while maintaining natural aesthetic.
Nature Photography
Nature Photography During my visit to Gatlinburg, I captured the beauty of nature through my Canon Rebel T7 camera, focusing on the stunning landscapes of the Smoky Mountains. This project allowed me to experiment with natural lighting, depth, and composition while highlighting the vibrant colors and textures of the region. Through these photographs, I aimed to convey the serenity and wonder of the natural world, showcasing Gatlinburg's unique charm and beauty.

For this studio project, I focused on capturing moments that invite viewers to explore the details and meaning behind them. By carefully choosing the composition, lighting, colors, and objects, I aimed to create images that showcase both creativity and technical skill. Each decision, from camera angles to background contrasts, was thoughtfully made to highlight the subject and convey a clear concept. I used a Canon Rebel T7 camera and then carried the image into Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom Classic to refine and enhance its quality.

This was the first studio portrait I ever did. I was inspired by the feeling of early mornings when the sun is on your face, and you’re too tired to get up for the day. For this project, I operated professional studio equipment, including a Canon Rebel T7 camera, lighting setups, and backdrops, to create a high-quality portrait. I edited and retouched these photos in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom Classic to enhance the image quality.
