Advance Photography
High Key / Low key
Advance photography, Studio Portrait Project
For this project, I focused on mastering high key and low key lighting techniques in a studio setting. My creative vision centered on using light to highlight the elegance of human form in a way that guides the viewer’s eye fluidly through the composition. By emphasizing line, shape, and balance, I aimed to create portraits that feel both visually striking and intentional in their flow. With high key, I used multiple light sources, a softbox, and a bright backdrop to achieve a clean, airy effect with minimal shadows. For low key, I shifted to a single, directional light against a dark background to create dramatic shadows and strong contrast. Both sets of portraits were captured using a Cannon Rebel T7 camera and studio lighting equipment then later refined in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom Classic to enhance tonal balance and highlight the distinct moods of each style.
